History and Local Lore Museum in Izabielin
The museum introduces us to the history of the village from the 16th century to the present day. Here you can see the exhibition of folk craftsmen “Made of wood, sewn from linen”, take part in the program “Belarusian holidays and rituals”, go on a virtual tour “Cultural and historical heritage of Izabielin”, watch the theatrical performance “Journey to the father’s house”.
The museum operates in the “Izabielin Kindergarten and Secondary School Educational and Pedagogical Complex”.

Izabielin House of Culture
The main attraction of the House of Culture is the “Culinary Izabielin” museum exhibition. It was opened in 2018 to preserve household items used by peasants in Vaukavysk district, as well as to collect information about the dishes of this region. So feel free to ask about local recipes!
The exhibition has more than 60 exhibits: butter churns, mortars, millstones, jars, irons, spinning wheels, woven carpets and other things necessary in everyday life. The most interesting exhibits are the bast sandal having more than a hundred years old and the “lyanivets”, a device for taking off shoes. You can watch the video tour “Culinary Izabielin” at.
The library of the House of Culture has local history materials on Izabielin and its surroundings. Don’t hesitate to contact the local librarian.

National History and Local Lore Museum in Padarosk
The museum’s collection is impressive: unique objects, photographs and printed publications are presented here. Only the archaeological collection has more than 100 objects of the 10th-12th centuries! The exhibition presents documents from the 19th to the first half of the 20th century. The exhibition “Peasant Yard” introduces us to the traditional way of life of our ancestors, including the interior of a Belarusian house.
The museum keeps a collection of school textbooks from 1900-1950, as well as partisan and underground publications from the Second World War. You can get acquainted with individual sections of the exposition here.
The museum is hosted by the “Padarosk Kindergarten and Secondary School Educational and Pedagogical Complex”. Excursions are conducted in Belarusian, Russian and German.

Padarosk Estate Museum
A museum of the Belarusian nobility is planned to be opened in the Padarosk estate. Its temporary exposition is already working: 14 rooms are open for visitors. In each of them there are installations that tell about one or another aspect of the life of the nobility.
The creators of the museum dream that in the future it will exhibit the works of Stanislav Zhukousky (an outstanding landscape painter, the son of a hereditary nobleman). The paintings were purchased at auctions by the current owner of the estate.

Jewish cult buildings and places of power in Izabielin
Synagogue. 44А/1 Vaukavyskaya st., Izabielin village. It is assumed that the brick building was erected in the 18th century. In recent times, the former synagogue housed the Neptune bar, so now the remains of its “sea interiors” are still preserved inside. The local authorities reported that a few years ago the building was bought by a private person in order to open a museum with a focus on Jewish history in the future.

Architectural units and other interesting places in Izabielin and Padarosk that can be seen on the way
Izabielin:
Former Calvinist congregation; now the Catholic church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. 29 Vaukavyskaya st. In the 17th century, when Izabielin belonged to the Sapiega family, a Catholic church was built here (it has not been preserved). In the 18th century, the estate passed to the Hrabousky family, who professed Calvinism. In 1778, Count Hrabousky built a stone Calvinist church in Izabielin, which was also used for services by Lutherans.
In 1935, when Izabielin was part of the interwar Polish Republic, a Catholic parish was founded in the village and was given the building of the former Calvinist church. In 1968, the church was closed by the Soviet authorities, in 1989 it was returned to the Catholics. After the restoration, it was reconsecrated on June 29, 1993. Historical interiors have not been preserved.

Former Greek Catholic Church; now the Orthodox Church of St. Michael the Archangel. 38 Vaukavyskaya st. The church was built of bricks at the end of the 18th century. After the liquidation of the Greek-Catholic (Uniate) Church in 1839, the authorities of the Russian Empire handed over the building to the Orthodox Church. In 1863, the temple caught fire due to a lightning strike, but was quickly restored and consecrated in the name of Michael the Archangel. In 1924, the building was partially rebuilt. Unfortunately, the historical gate in front of the church was destroyed during the renovation works.

Common buildings. In the village of Izabielin, residential buildings of the 19th – first half of the 20th centuries have been preserved, as well as outbuildings in the “timber-framing” style of the first half of the 20th century.

Padarosk:
Manor and park complex of Chachots and Bochvits. 4 Parkavaya st., Padarosk agrotown. The manor and park complex on the right bank of the Zalvyanka River was formed in the second half of the 19th century. It includes a stone manor house, a park, several stone and wooden outbuildings, and its territory is surrounded by a stone wall with a majestic gate. On the opposite side of the roadway is a brick distillery built in 1862 and a wooden water mill.
The last owner of the estate, Anton Bochvits (1880-1939), was arrested by the Soviet authorities and died in prison in Vaukavysk. During the Soviet era, the manor housed a secondary school. Later, the building was divided equally between the collective farm administration and the music school. A dairy was located in the greenhouse, and the crypt of the burial chapel was used as the animal burial site.
In the early 2000s, the distillery, which was located in the buildings of the winery, was closed, and the manor house was empty and gradually fell into disrepair. In 2013, through an auction, the manor and park complex was purchased by the businessman Paval Padkarytau. He plans to create the first museum of the nobility in Belarus (part of the expositions are already in operation) and accompanying tourist infrastructure.

Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity. 7А Pershamayskaya st. The temple was built in the last quarter of the 18th century from bricks as a Catholic church in the Sarmatian Baroque style. In the 19th century, by decision of the authorities of the Russian Empire, it was handed over to the Orthodox Church. After the Second World War, the Soviet authorities closed the church. In 1988, the building was handed over to the Belarusian Exarchate of the Moscow Patriarchate.
